College Basketball Experience
From TheKCGuy
I recently got to go inside the College Basketball Experience downtown and was impressed. This combination of the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame and entertainment looks like it will be a great destination for basketball fans in town for the Big 12 tournament, NCAA action, and locals obsessed with basketball.
The upstairs features a whole host of different basketball activities, think of "pop-a-shot" on steroids. There are low rims and high ones to test your dunking skills, as well as courts that let you show off your 3-point shots. There's also a full-sized court complete with bleachers to host small games.
Downstairs not only contains the Hall of Fame, but also another handful of basketball activities. There's the biggest, lowest rim I've ever seen, which allows your youngest child the opportunity to dunk before they can even reach the drinking fountain. You can also take on all of your friends in the large collection of pop-a-shots. (I'm not sure of their gambling policy there, but this would be the perfect place to finally settle all of those barroom challenges.)
The Hall of Fame itself is a beautiful display, featuring TV and computerized displays that let you look up far more information about coaches and players than even the most die-hard trivia buff would ever need to know.
I'm excited to see the College Basketball Experience in Kansas City, and can't wait to get back.
