It's snowing something fierce out there in Kansas City today, and once again, the snow people are doing a great job of keeping up with it. I ventured out earlier, and the roads in Kansas were totally clear, except for in my neighborhood, which was nearly unpassable. Oh well. I'll stay in and see if I can finish all of this bourbon.

While I'm sitting around today, I've been listening to one of my favorite radio shows. Bill Shapiro's Cypress Avenue on NPR. He always plays great music, and it's not always the same overplayed stuff that you hear on every Clear Channel station across the nation. I had to laugh this afternoon at something he said that confirmed to me that he's not just a tool of the recording industry. He said that this was his annual show where he features his 10 favorite recordings of the year. This was his 30th time doing it, and he said that this was the most difficult year to pick, not because of all of the great music that came out, but because he thought that there wasn't much new out this year with any staying power. That's classic. He struggled through it, though, and played songs from 10 albums that came out this year that he thought were worthy.
