It's May in Kansas City. The April showers came, but I don't think they're over yet. We're way over our monthly rainfall average, so everything will be green and lush for a while, I'll bet. May brings a few events and holidays, like Mothers' Day on the 17th and Taste of KC. This weekend, though, enjoy the Kentucky Derby. It will probably be raining a bit both here and in Louisville, but you can still make it out for a Mint Julep somewhere. I hear that Maker's Mark in P&L is having specials for the Derby. The Brookside Art Fair is also this weekend. If you can dodge the rain a bit, head over there to check out the art.
