I finally got to try the French dip at the Blue Moose and I was unimpressed. It was a good enough sandwich, but when compared to some of the other French Dips in Kansas City, it is not near the top. It was long and skinny, on some kind of baguette or Italian bread, which was pretty good, but there wasn't much meat at all. What meat was there wasn't the best stuff, with wide expanses of fat. The au jus wasn't very flavorful. Perhaps it's the same stuff they use over at 75th Street Brewery. The fries over at Blue Moose are dusted with a pretty good seasoning, which is great, but they could use a few extra moments in the fryer. I probably won't get this sandwich again, since there are a few other good items on the menu. The word is that the ribs are pretty danged good.
