Hearne Christopher is reporting on the second known (legal) place in KCMO that you can buy a drink until 5:00 AM. It's AMC Theatre's Marquee Bar & Grill. The Foundation in the 18th & Vine is the other place, and they offer live jazz that late. In summer months, that pretty much means you can party until dawn in this town. In case you're wondering if they show movies all night, the latest showtime that I've been able to find at the theater is midnight. To me, that means they're just looking to attract the crowds from the other bars when they close, not the folks leaving 2 AM movies. That should make for a "lively" scene. I doubt I'll make it down there to independently verify this new policy. Dad always told me that if you haven't convinced her to do it by midnight, you're probably not going to be able to at all. You might as well head home and try again next time.

Update: It turns out that they don't have a late license. They were just serving after hours, so they're just another of dozens of places in town that you can illegally buy a drink after hours at.
