I'm looking forward to the Grand opening of Vinino in the Power and Light District this Friday. Last weekend, when McFadden's opened up, it was pretty fun, but it was hard to tell how much excitement was due to the Garth Brooks show and how much was due to the first establishment opening up down there. This Friday, there won't be anything big at the Sprint Center, so if anyone's down in the P&L district, it's because they're checking out the new spots.

Speaking of grand openings, there's a Smoothie King going in at about 91st and State Line. I really dig Jamba Juice, so I'm hopeful that this is something similar. I guess there are a couple in the area already, but I've never tried one.

I hadn't heard that scalping is soon to be legal in Missouri. That's a great victory for advocates of personal property rights across the state.

If you live or work downtown, you're apparently supposed to leave your lights on tonight so that they can film the skyline for the Garth Brooks concert coverage. Oh wow.
