Boy, what a weekend in Kansas City!
It was spectacular weather all weekend, so I got a lot of honeydos done. I also smoked a turkey to practice for Thanksgiving. I have one of those Big Green Egg grill and smokers, so it's pretty fun to do a turkey in. I headed over to McGonigle's and got a 14 pound turkey. I slid some herbs under the skin, built a fire with some pecan and apple chips, and smoked it for about 5 hours at 275. Wow, what a yummy bird. Now, I'll have turkey leftovers for a week. I hope your weekend was just as productive.
Coming up this week in Kansas City is the big Garth Brooks week at the Sprint Center. I swear, people will be going nuts over this, and that's great. I hope it brings in tons of money to the downtown area and lots of people get to see how the Power and Light District is coming along.
Also, this week is the ABC Extreme Makeover: Home Edition construction week, so don't expect any real news out of ABC this week. That's OK, local news isn't really news anyway.
