The Garth Brooks-athon has begun in Kansas City. Not only have all local media consipred to provide wall to wall coverage of the entire affair, but I believe that the federal government or possibly NASA has been enlisted to cause daylight savings time to end just in bring sundown just before the concert at the Sprint Center each night this week and provide mood lighting. Then, the Writers' Guild apparently joined in to keep Brooks off of The Tonight Show on Monday night so that he could be here earlier and more refreshed. Everything has been lined up to make a Garth-tastic time downtown this week.
That's OK. I hope that all of this activity gives the crews down there a little practice in figuring out how to perform crowd and traffic control before the Power and Light District opens up and brings down even more people.
