What is RSS? I notice when talking to people about my site that they don't always understand that they can subscribe to a news feed of the daily posts. You can, and like many other blogs, I use a RSS feed to make it easy for you. An RSS feed is a link that you put in your RSS reader so that it can tell you of all of the updates on a changing site like a blog. So, how do you use a RSS feed and an RSS reader?
What is an RSS reader? A RSS reader is a piece of software that displays RSS feeds to you to let you know about updates to your favorite websites. Some of them are web-based, meaning you put your favorite RSS feed links into a website and it shows you the updates. For example:
Some are installed on your computer, sort of like your web browser or email client. For example:
Many browsers also have the ability to show you RSS feeds. You might like to use that, too.
When you see the RSS logo on a site, you know that you can subscribe to the updates to it. Get the link from that site and put it in your RSS reader and you'll always be updated with the latest content from that site.
