I spotted an article about sandwiches over at Kansas City InfoZine. As you probably know by now, I do enjoy an occasional French dip, but never have I heard anyone turn to them as a more healthful alternative to their normal diet. I wonder what Dana Jacobi has been eating up to now to decide to turn to a French dip to improve her diet. I suddenly don't feel as bad having a country fried steak and eggs for breakfast one morning last weekend.

In other news, new local website, KCNewsWatch.com has been running radio ads recently, describing how they will be working to ensure more fair coverage of stories that the local media, especially the Star, buries or spins in some way. I eagerly checked it out, but discovered that all they do is link to stories from the Star. I can't seem to find the original commentary or coverage on the site. I guess their current method is to "set the record straight" by sending traffic to the Star. I'm hopeful that they'll eventually grow to be able to provide the "wake up call" that they're promising the Star.

Update: Embarrassingly enough, it appears that Tony agrees with me in part about the lack of interesting commentary over there. But, his take on the new site seems to again bring up the blurry line between a blog and a website. Perhaps they're not running a blog over there, so that's why they aren't doing much to "share their unique voice" or allow comments. As I start to occasionally include more one-sided rants on this webiste, I wonder if I'm drifting away from a local information site into a blog, and perhaps I should start allowing comments or more reader contribution in some way.

And finally, I would be remiss if I didn't congratulate Tony Pena Jr. on his pitching performance last night. Our shortstop and occasional baseman took the mound last night to pitch a 1-2-3 9th inning, including one strike-out.
